Harris, Vance Emerge as 2028 Front-Runners

A new Financial Times poll shows former Vice President Kamala Harris and Vice President JD Vance with commanding leads in the 2028 presidential race.

The poll has Harris, the Democrat presidential nominee in 2024, leading the Democrat field with 37%. California Gov. Gavin Newsom is second with 17%, while former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear trail in single digits.

Vance leads the Republican field with 38%, followed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio at 18%, while Donald Trump Jr. polls at 10%. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. each poll in single digits.
